You Can Now Order Almost Any Item on Amazon Prime Using Alexa

The Amazon Echo and other Alexa-powered devices may have reordered items you’ve already bought on Amazon before, but now you can ask the virtual assistant to order pretty much anything that’s available through Amazon Prime.

Previously, limited functionality meant that you were just buying items that could be ordered over and over again, like toilet paper, but now you can ask your virtual assistant to buy millions of items if they are eligible for unlimited two-day Prime delivery. … Need some duct tape? Just say “Alexa, order duct tape,” and your virtual assistant will recommend a product. Then you confirm if you want to buy it.

It is not limited to common household items; I asked Alexa to order The Great Gatsby, and she immediately recommended a regular paperback edition, and after I refused, she recommended a DVD instead. No thanks, Alexa. Amazon says it continues to add products every day. You can try it now with Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Tap, and compatible Fire TV versions.
