Use a Baking Sheet to Make Cooking Easier
Sheet pans are a pretty important item in the kitchen. You can use them to make prosciutto chips or a whole bunch of fried cheese sandwiches , but they can also be used to catch the peels and trimmings of vegetables, making peeling easier.
I’ve always peeled vegetables over the sink, but the nasty rind can clog your plumbing, even if you have a chute. I nearly ruined Christmas last year by throwing potato skins in my mother’s trash heap. It was a bad scene and I’m always ashamed.
Fortunately, these kinds of disasters can be easily prevented by simply lining the sink with a baking sheet. Empty as usual, letting everything fall into the pan, and pour into the trash can when done. Don’t fuss. No boob. No plumbing disaster with peeling potato peels.
