The Rest of the Day: GameCube Emulation Just Got Better
Good news! You made it to the weekend. And I know what I’m going to do while everyone else is out in the summer sun: play Nintendo games on my computer thanks to the recently updated emulator.
- The Preeminent GameCube and Wii Dolphin Emulator just got their first big update in three years , which includes game-specific fixes as well as general performance improvements. I recently played Twilight Princess with an older version of Dolphin, and while it’s not without its quirks, it was completely playable. And it’s nice! [Dolphin via Kotaku ]
- In other news: Facebook has a new multilingual composer that allows you to post messages in multiple languages at the same time. It will suggest an automatically translated version of your message, but you can write whatever you want if you don’t want to be like a robot. Facebook then decides which version your friends will see based on their language preference and region. [Facebook]
- Facebook also makes it easier for individuals to raise funds on behalf of nonprofits. Last year, Facebook launched a tool for nonprofits to solicit donations on a social network, and this is an extension of it so people can campaign for their favorite nonprofit organization. [TechCrunch]
- DuckDuckGo, in an ongoing partnership with Yahoo, adds several new features based on Yahoo technology. You can now filter your search results by date, and the results will also include site subsections to make it easier to navigate to the page you are looking for. [DuckDuckGo]
