20 Movies Are so Bad They’re Really Good

For the most part, I don’t believe movies can be so bad that they are actually good. If the movie is good, isn’t it just … okay? However, there is no doubt that films can succeed if they fail. Ed Wood is an extreme but perfect example of a filmmaker who never achieved what he set out to do in any of his films, but nevertheless worked cinematic magic out of enthusiasm, shamelessness, and a good deal of self-deception. This kind of thing is always better than something like Sharknado, which is a funny movie, but it works so hard to get stupid, and you can see the flop sweat. Other, nicer (better?) “Bad” films get there by accident.

Personally, I almost always prefer to watch an interesting failure rather than a boring success – sometimes because passion is contagious, and just as often because a true WTF fiasco is a rare and wonderful thing. Here are 20 of them.
