What Awaits HBO Max in July 2020

Formatting this gigantic list of what’s in and out of HBO Max, HBO Go, and the usual old HBO channel on your TV this month has given me the opportunity to celebrate the odd synchronicity between new arrivals and planned outings on the streaming service. For example: A bunch of DC comic-based movies, including 80s and 90s Batman (s), are leaving, but HBO is appeasing superhero fans by adding a dozen or so DC animated films to the lineup. (An earlier version of this post indicated that new DC films Batman v Superman, Justice League, Suicide Squad, and Wonder Woman are also leaving the service, but HBO has expanded them due to popular demand “, That is, people dragging and dropping them all over the Internet.)

George Miller’s bizarre, disturbing and Oscar-winning animated film Happy Feet dances at the end of the month. Don’t worry: you can continue your Miller marathon with Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior and Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome, both of which traumatize your kids in much the same way. Step out of Guillermo del Toro’s bloody horror movie Crimson Peak , enter Guillermo del Toro’s bloody horror movie Blade II . So, Endless Story , a movie that I watched obsessively in the 80s. Hi Boy Who Could Fly , a movie that I watched with passion in the 80s. You can share your examples of programming a kismet streaming service in the comments. Or, more likely, you’ll want to browse the list to add new releases to your watchlist for the month , such as the classic game classic Last Christmas, Edward Norton’s Motherless Brooklyn adaptation , and Oscar-nominated Harriet . Check out the full list of what’s to come and what’s next below. Titles with (HBO) next to them are available on HBO Max, Go and regular HBO; everything else is exclusive to HBO Max.
