You Should Wait Until the Update to IOS 13

We usually say that it would probably be a good idea to update to the latest version of iOS whenever possible – for additional features you can play with, potentially improved performance, and any bug fixes or security fixes you might get. While iOS 13 was only released yesterday, there is one good reason you might want to delay updating your device for a few days: iOS 13.1.

In addition to yesterday’s launch of its latest version of iOS, Apple has also extended the timeline for the next minor iOS update – iOS 13.1 – from September 30 to September 24. In other words, a number of additional bug fixes and features will be added . hit your iPhone on Tuesday.

While iOS updates usually go smoothly for most people, it’s not flawless. We’ve already seen several bug reports including the weird one where you can’t see the names of email senders in Mail – a more serious flaw that could reveal your contact details to anyone with physical access to your device , and even a direct recommendation by the Ministry US Defense that users are submitting this update at this time (presumably to install iOS 13.1 instead).

We think this is sound advice, especially since iOS 13.1 is only a few days old. While that doesn’t mean that even this update will go flawlessly for everyone , you’re more likely to get the best possible experience on Apple’s latest operating system in this minor release and all its fixes compared to plain old iOS 13.

So, if you haven’t updated yet, wait until Tuesday. If you have, and have already encountered an issue, you can always sign up for the beta program – even temporarily – to see if all of the iOS 13.1 fixes can improve your experience. (As always, I recommend getting profiles from betaprofiles.com to participate in the beta.)
