Try a Virtual Powerlifting Competition From the Comfort of Your Home Gym
The three types of powerlifting competition – squat, bench press, and deadlift – are easy enough to learn and train at home. Many of us have practiced these exercises regardless of whether we have the opportunity to prove ourselves in competition. So if you’ve been hanging out at your home gym and might want to have a little friendly competition, check out the #GarageGymCompetition that’s taking place right now on Reddit and Instagram .
The rules are simple: you do squats, bench presses, and deadlifts in your home gym and upload all three videos in one Instagram post tagged #GarageGymCompetition .
Most aspects of the exercise are scored on an honor system: follow the instructions and do your best with the weights you have. To join the official competition (and be eligible for a prize draw), you must post your entry this week.
