The Best IPad Keyboard Shortcuts You Didn’t Know About
If you’re on an iPad with an external keyboard, you can use some of the same keyboard shortcuts as on a Mac. Sweet Setup lists good keyboard shortcuts that are especially important for iPad users, including the following less obvious ones:
- Press and hold the down arrow to open the soft keyboard without undocking.
- Command-H to go to the home screen.
- Command-shift-T to reopen the last closed tab.
- Command-shift-D to send an email to Mail.
Sweet Setup also lists shortcuts for Bear, Ulysses, Adobe Lightroom CC, and Things 3.
The tricky part is that while many of the shortcuts are the same on iPad and Mac, some are slightly different or work a little differently: Command-tab only loops through your last ten apps. You will have to get used to little tweaks in your workflow.
