Why You Should Run the Trails

Now that the weather is getting better, it’s time to forget about the sidewalks and treadmills and go jogging on the trails . Trails can also aid running and possibly reduce injuries, but not for the reasons you might think.

There is a myth that trails are good for your body because they are “softer” than the sidewalk, but running coach Jason Fitzgerald tells us this isn’t always true. The advantage is that “all stem plants will be slightly different. You probably aren’t running straight ahead. You cover rocks, roots, small holes in the ground, and the like. “

This option means two things: First, you don’t repeat the same loads on your leg mile after mile. Secondly, you work many muscles in different ways, making yourself stronger and more mobile. So if you can find uneven ground near you, try this field, park, or rugged trail.
