How to Move a Large Instrument
Cleaning your kitchen regularly requires that you either ignore what’s going on under your refrigerator or move it around so you can clean it properly. Here’s how to do the latter, because eventually the former will catch up with you.
It’s unpleasant what happens under an ordinary refrigerator and stove: this is where lost carrots, scorched toasts, cat toys and dog hair die. If you notice mold in your kitchen that hasn’t been removed by any amount of countertop cleanings, chances are it’s from a country of no return.
But moving a large device yourself is not easy. Sometimes it is not easy even with another person! Cnet helpfully explained two main ways to do this , and only one of them requires purchasing props.
Use water
If you’re mopping, this is the perfect time to clean under the refrigerator. This takes care because you will lather the floor and you will not want to slip and fall, especially before you finish cleaning.
Take a spray bottle and pour one tablespoon of dish soap and two cups of warm water into it. Shake it several times, then spray it on the feet of the appliance. Allow the solution to seep under each leg for a few minutes. Finally, spray the product in front of the appliance a few feet away.
A slippery floor will make sliding the appliance forward a relative breeze; plus, you already have the cleaning solution on the floor. Take a mop and wave it back there. Slide it back and wipe off any residue with clean water so that there is no permanent stain on the floor.
Use coasters
A more controlled way to do this is to buy cutlery stands that slide under the feet of your appliance and make it easier to move around. Then you can simply spray on the area you want to clean without fear of falling into a puddle of soap. It can also make you clean more regularly because it’s just easier.
And one more hotplate tip I read in Money Saving Mom: On many oven models, the oven drawer can be removed , giving you access to the area under the oven without removing the appliance from the wall. Get ready for the horrors that you may encounter there.
