Get Lower Hotel Rates After Booking on This Website
Chances are your hotel room rate will drop after you book. Hotels often cut prices when the number of reservations is not quite what they were hoping for, or when it becomes obvious that they will have a lot of free space.
You may already know this. However, you may not realize that you can often take advantage of this new lower price as well.
This week CNET recommended a service I haven’t heard of before: Pruvo.
With it, you book a hotel room, as always, and then send a confirmation email to save@pruvo.net .
When you do, the service will start tracking prices for that booking. If he finds that the price has dropped, you will receive an email notification.
All of this only works if there is a free cancellation option for your original booking.
The idea here is that when you receive an email from Pruvo informing you that the room is cheaper, you will cancel your original booking and rebook at a new lower rate.
For some bookings, you may not see any price changes or the price may even rise over time. However, in cases where the price does drop, this can be a good free heads-up that could potentially save you a decent amount of money.
