Pound for pound, canned spices are some of the most expensive utensils in your kitchen. They are much cheaper in bulk and ethnic grocery stores are your best bet. But if you’re stuck in a department store (says redditor erahwahh), take a look at the “ethnic foods” aisle, where the spices will likely be sold in larger, cheaper plastic jars or bags. (Better yet, go to an ethnic grocery store for a wider selection of free-flowing spices.)
