Rest of the Day: Google Uptime Lets You Watch Videos With Friends
Google has a quirky new app, born in their experimental incubator, that lets you watch YouTube videos with your friends while you chat about them. Looks like kids and teenagers might like something. Right, teenagers? About this and much more in today’s news.
- Uptime is a colorful messaging app built by Google’s internal home projects incubator called Area 120 . Basically, the point is that you share videos with friends, you can chat and react to them while watching. Sounds good, but I feel like I am definitely not the target audience. Here’s a look at this:
- In other news, Sony is adding PS4 games to PlayStation Now , its service that lets you stream games to your PC without using a PlayStation. This was previously limited to PS3 games for $ 20 a month. The library will not include all existing PS4 games, but they will launch beta testing in the next few weeks. Microsoft offers what they call “Playable Ads” to apps in the Windows Store, which allow you to interact with the app without having to buy or download it.
