Now Flying With Note 7 Is a Crime, so Please Bring Them Back
Have we made it clear enough that you should return your Note 7 ? Well, now the FAA is in the fray. The emergency ban made it a crime to take the Note 7 on an airplane.
If you plan to fly, you will have to leave the Note 7 at home. The FAA now says that passengers cannot carry the phone “with them, in carry-on baggage, checked baggage, or as cargo.” If you manage to get it on the plane, you will be forced to turn it off immediately. If the airline discovers that you have a Note 7 before you board the plane, they might deny you boarding altogether.
As if that weren’t enough, civil fines for violating this restriction can be as high as $ 179,933 and can be prosecuted under Law 18 , which carries fines and up to ten years in prison. Given how many units have been sold, it’s unlikely that the airline would treat you like a criminal deliberately setting the plane on fire just by seeing your phone. However, insisting on this is not a good idea. For now, if you haven’t gotten your Note 7 back , you’re only making life harder for yourself.
