Detour: GPS Guided Audio Tours of Major Tourist Cities
Android / iOS: Visiting a new city is a great vacation, but without a guide it can be overwhelming. Detour offers audio tours of major cities such as San Francisco, New York, and Austin to show you around the city.
The app currently contains 10 separate San Francisco guides with free previews for Austin, New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Barcelona and Marrakech. Chicago and Los Angeles are listed as “coming soon.” Each tour shows you where to go by talking about your surroundings. You can also sync your tour with other people so everyone can listen to it together on their devices.
The selection is a bit thin at the moment, but most advance tours are currently free. Tours to San Francisco cost $ 5 each, or you can get the entire set for $ 25. This is not too bad compared to other sightseeing services that you will find in different cities.
