Stores With the Best Return Policy
Most major retailers will allow you to return items if you have a receipt , but some rules are especially convenient for customers. Money Talks News reports on stores with the best return policy.
Nordstrom tops the list, and host Stacey Johnson says they are the “gold standard” retailer return policy :
It is known that they took back any item at any time, whether it was a receipt or not. No return counter: please contact any retailer. If you need to return something by mail, you will even be provided with postage labels.
They should not be confused with Nordstrom Rack, however , which still has a decent policy but you need a receipt for a full refund. Other stores on the list:
- Macy’s : They also do not have many conditions for returns or exchanges. If you don’t have a receipt, they’ll try to find your order. If they still can’t confirm your purchase, they’ll refund you the lowest selling price in the last 180 days. They also have a 60 day trial period for mattresses.
- Costco : They allow full refunds for anything and the negotiation says you don’t need a receipt . One caveat: electronics must be returned within 90 days. According to the negotiation, if you have an item that is too large or unwieldy to pick up at the store, you can also arrange for pickup.
- L.L. Bean : They say their products are built to last, so they’ll take them back at any time. If you don’t have a receipt, you will be given a gift card.
Amazon is not listed, perhaps because they target brick-and-mortar stores, but it’s worth noting that Amazon also makes it easier to return items. For other stores, follow the link below.
