Get Fast Weather Forecast With Terminal Command

When it comes to weather forecasts, you have hundreds of options for getting a forecast. But if you’d rather never leave the command line, OS X Daily offers a simple command to help you get the forecast for today without requiring any additional software.

All you have to do is use the finger protocol to ping the server. Open the command line tool you want , then enter the following command, replacing the city name with “city”:

finger city@graph.no

For example, to get a forecast for Los Angeles, you would enter:

finger los_angeles@graph.no

This will give you a daily forecast (currently only available in Celsius). If you prefer a nicer forecast, Wego looks more attractive, or you can create a quick script that simplifies information better than graph.no does .
