Use a Plastic Knife to Cut the Cake Neatly

Let’s face it. Even if you just slice freshly baked cakes with your fingers, they will be delicious. But sometimes you need to cut them neatly without tearing. Enter the plastic knife.

Plastic knives have a natural non-stick coating and will not tear your cakes apart when slicing. After you make each slice, simply wipe the blade and dive back in. If you don’t have a plastic knife, you can also dip a metal knife in some cold water or apply nonstick cooking spray to it before making each slice. It doesn’t work as well as plastic, but it does help.

Of course, no knife will give you perfect slices unless you have the patience to wait until the cakes have cooled. The choice is yours.
