Defeat the Winter Blues With a Norwegian Mindset

Intense colds and short winter days can affect your mood and even lead to something more serious, known as seasonal affective disorder . To suppress the winter blues and keep you in a good mood, a simple mindset change is enough.

Kari Lebowitz , Ph.D. A Ph.D. at Stanford University is studying the impact of winter on people in northern Norway, where the sun never really rises from November to January. Leibovitz could not understand why people there do not get depressed because of their surroundings, but their answer was quite simple: “Why do we need?” In Norway, winter is something special that you can enjoy, not just endure. Leibovitz found that engaging in winter activities, enjoying the comforts of being indoors on a cold winter night, and finding a way to truly appreciate the beauty of the winter season can really help those feeling overwhelmed in landfills. Last but not least, Leibovitz recommends that you refuse to participate in the “Olympic Games in misfortune.” Yes, it’s cold, the days are short, and it takes longer to get somewhere, but the less you complain about all this, the better you’ll probably feel. Of course, if you think you are truly overwhelmed, tone it down a bit and see a professional.
