Save Fennel Stalks From Debris and Use Them in Place of Celery

Get the most out of the next fennel bulb by using the stems as well. People often throw them away, but you can use them wherever you would normally use celery, such as in homemade broth or salad.

Fennel stalks have a texture similar to celery, although their flavor is much stronger (in a good way). Use the flavor to add interesting (and delicious!) Undertones to your next soup or stew. If you want to preserve the crispness, chop up the raw stems to use in salad, or let them quickly marinate to use as a savory side.
