Save the Chicken Skins for an Addictive Baked Snack

If you cook and cook a lot of poultry at home, at some point you may find that you need to cut the chicken skin. When that happens, don’t even think about throwing away those skins! Instead, save them for an addictive crackle worthy of a passion.

Chicken skins are a popular fried appetizer, but Jennifer Lee of the food blog Kirbie’s Cravings proves that chicken skins can taste just as great when baked using a simple, reliable process:

Dry the chicken skins with paper towels. Place the skins on parchment paper and sprinkle seasoning on each skin. Take another piece of parchment paper and place on top of the skins, covering them completely. Take another baking sheet of the same size and place on top of the skin. This keeps the skins flat during cooking and also prevents oil from splashing in the oven. Bake for 15 minutes.

And without added fat, this is a really healthy snack. Chicken skin is considered unhealthy , but most of the fat in chicken skin appears to be healthy . Take, mushrooms and shicharrons!

We love this snack with a simple salt and pepper seasoning, but it would probably be a fun remedy for all kinds of toppings, from chili and garlic powder to dried olives and miso . The complete recipe can be found at the link below.
