Convert Used Candle Jars Into Mini Planters
Some people think a lot about buying candles. They may use words such as “burning time”, “musk” and “toss” to describe how they make their choice. But even if it’s really all about the scent, it’s hard to resist the candles that come in aesthetically pleasing jars, and Big Candle knows it.
The problem is that after you burn the candle, you are left with an amber glass vessel, similar to a pharmacy, or a perfectly round opaque white glass. You don’t want to get rid of them, but you also have little storage space and are not sure if empty candle containers are worth real estate value. Well, maybe this TikTok video hack will serve as a source of inspiration for you .
How to turn an old candle jar into a planter
If you’ve already used other old candle jars for things like pen / pencil holders or tubs for cotton swabs or balls in the bathroom, you might consider using your next discarded candle jar as a mini planter. This trick comes from TikTok user Ashley from @ash_o_lie :

First, you put the used candle in the freezer. Here’s why it works, from a Lifehacker article back in 2012 :
In the freezer, the wax is compressed from the sides of the jar, making it much easier to remove with a blunt knife. Once most of the wax has been removed, a few quick swabs of baby oil or vinegar should remove any residue, leaving you with a perfect storage jar on your countertop.
Okay, this part is done.
Now take this empty candle jar and find a small plant in it. Candle jars with three wicks (from Bath & Body Works, for example) are ideal for 4-inch potted plants. Simply slide the entire small plant, including the plastic grow pot, into the former candle jar, and you don’t have to worry about drainage.
