For Speed and Ease, Consider Microwavable Brie.

Baked brie is welcome at all fancy parties like Christmas and New Year’s, but it’s not exactly appropriate for the Super Bowl either. Heck, it’s not even that cool for a Thursday afternoon in my opinion. As the name suggests, baking the baked brie seems like a necessary step, but my friends, it’s nonsense. You can make it quick, easy and fuss-free by cooking brie in the microwave.

1. Place the cheese on a plate

Even though brie en croute , wrapped in puff pastry, requires time in the oven, not all baked brie is wrapped. They are simply reheated until they become hot, melting circles of cheese, and it doesn’t take much time. Take any old disc of Brie or Camembert and empty it of its wooden container and plastic wrap. Place the brie on a microwave-safe dish or bowl. I like wide, flat-bottomed, tall-sided ceramic soup bowls, but a bowl with rims works too. The idea is to keep liquid cheese off the table, so stay away from flat surfaces such as cheese boards, slates or cutting boards without edges.

2. Heat in batches

Place the plate or bowl of brie in the microwave and heat it for 20 seconds. Test the cheese to see how melted it is by carefully poking it with your finger. It’s probably still firm in the center but starting to soften around the edges. Give it another 20 seconds in the microwave and check again. Continue heating the cheese until the center is slightly soft, about a minute and a half.

Microwave ovens vary slightly, and a 13-ounce cheese wheel will take longer to heat up than a six-ounce cheese wheel, so check often to make sure you don’t overdo it. After one minute of heating, I usually start checking the cheese every 10-15 seconds until I’m satisfied.

3. Add toppings and serve.

As soon as the brie is ready, serve it immediately. You can decorate it with some toppings like chopped nuts, dried fruit, bacon jam, honey, Crunchwrap Supreme topping , or keep it plain. Take a nearby chip, carrot, apple slice, or pretzel and spread a spoonful of the gooey dairy product onto it. Before you know it, the show’s break will end and you’ll need to microwave another wheel. Luckily, the next round will be ready before the commercials start.
