This Samsung QLED Gaming Monitor Just Dropped to Its Lowest Price
Gamers don’t need a 49-inch QLED screen or a 240Hz refresh rate to play games, but it certainly makes gaming more fun. And if you’re looking for a great gaming experience, check out the Samsung Odyssey G9 for US$849.99 ($1,399.99), which is its lowest price right now, according to Camelcamelcamel price history .
Big, sharp and curved
The Samsung Odyssey G9 gaming monitor is not intended for casual gamers; this is for gamers who need to be special. Curved monitors like this mean that your peripherals will cling to the edges of the screen (if you position the monitor correctly on your desk), giving you the immersive feeling that only these monitors can provide. And if you work from home and want to use the monitor for work, you can use it as two separate screens using two display port cables, as shown in the video below. It can also be adjusted to suit your preferred height and angle.
The monitor measures 49 inches from corner to corner, has a 32:9 aspect ratio, a 240Hz refresh rate and Nvidia G-Sync with adaptive sync. It has a resolution of 5120 by 1440 pixels on a QLED screen with 1000 nits of brightness and a peak brightness of 193 candelas per square meter. (It’s very bright.) You get two USB ports, an HDMI display port, a headphone jack, and an Ethernet port for faster Internet connections. The Samsung Odyssey G9 is much cheaper than it was when it was released in 2020, mainly due to the Odyssey Neo G9 , which, as the name suggests, is a newer version. That said, the Samsung Odyssey G9 is still a great gaming monitor for about half the price. You can read PCMag’s full “excellent” review here .
