When you’re cleaning your home, you probably have some kind of routine: cleaning and wiping down the set spots in every room. But if so, it means you may be missing out on some hidden mold growth. Here are the places you should check regularly to make sure this doesn’t happen.
What causes mold growth?
Mold can grow indoors or outdoors if there is moisture. It really isn’t too demanding on the surface and can be found on wallpaper, bathroom tile, grout, cardboard, ceiling tiles, paper products, upholstery, drywall, fabric, wood, insulation, dust, paint, and carpet. Mold is especially common in flood areas or near leaks in roofs, windows, or pipes.
Signs of latent mold
Although the mold may not be in plain sight, there are signs that it is probably hiding somewhere. These include :
