AppRecs Filters BS ITunes App Store Reviews
The iTunes app store is filled with reviews written by people like you or me. Except for those that are not, and for which they are either paid, or sent spam, or actively requested. AppRecs tries to filter out unwanted reviews.
When you search for an app name in AppRecs, it looks at the review text to filter out the least trustworthy posts. These tend to be reviews, where the app constantly asks people to write reviews, when reviews are reward-based, paid, or just plainly biased based on other reviews from the person. If you’re wondering how AppRecs figure this out, they detail their process here . It’s not a perfect system and AppRecs will surely skip some crappy reviews, but it makes it a little easier to browse crappy reviews in the iTunes App Store.
