Glacier Point Desktop

Strange didn’t leave much information on how he created this beautiful desktop with the Half Dome in the center, but we can figure it out. Here’s what you’ll need if you want your Mac to look and feel like this.

There is some solid customization going on here, but by and large, these are just a few things. Here’s what you need:

  • Wallpapers were included in OS X “El Capitan” Beta 6, so they may already be installed on your computer. If not, or if you are using Windows or Linux, download it here.
  • Übersicht , our favorite OS X customization pack with widgets (battery display, clock and weather widgets)
  • cDock , a utility that gives you complete control over your dock, for dock dividers and transparency settings
  • Minimalist White Icon Pack for Customizing System Tray Icons

Nothing happens here, but what’s happening is nice and well placed so that you can freely do some work and only see the widgets when you need them and the icons and dock are set up to work with the country rather than forcing its to work for them. If you like the finished product or have questions about how it was done, click on the Flickr link below.

Update: Thanks to MildlyMad for letting us know that the photo was * taken * from Glacier Point and has Half Dome on it!
