In addition to pointing out that some of the benefits of typing are faster and more comfortable, writing improves memory and encourages critical thinking. Fortunately, there are ways to eat and eat your cake, such as writing with a stylus on a tablet or scanning paper notes for ease of use with services like Evernote.
