Cheaper Versions of Popular Vacation Spots

There are so many amazing places to see in the world, but some of them are really expensive. While no destination is the same, CheapTickets has rounded up several cheaper alternatives to popular (but expensive) vacation spots.

To find cheaper “duplex” destinations, CheapTickets removed prices from their site using random midweek days during May. The list is, of course, subjective. Many of these deceivers assume that you like a certain place for a specific reason, usually the landscape. While this is probably mostly true for the mainstream tourists, it may not be why you particularly like this destination. Here are a few highlights, including recommended places to stay:

While they don’t offer average flight prices, you can tell that most of the destinations on the list offer significant savings if you run a quick Google flight search. However, there are exceptions. For example, while flights to Hawaii from the East Coast can be insanely expensive, they are actually cheaper from West Coast cities like Los Angeles, even cheaper than their St. Lucia alternative.
