Rest of the Day: Microsoft IOS Keyboard Gets Built-in Search
Today Microsoft is adding several new features to its Word Flow keyboard , which already includes one-handed operation and predictive typing. You can now also use it to search for GIFs, emojis and just about anything through Bing.
- Moreover, you can also use it to search your contacts without leaving your keyboard, and there are also new themes. The new features overlap with many similar features on Google’s iOS keyboard . Ramme is a cross-platform client for Windows, Mac and Linux (Linux users – we’re proud of you) that faithfully mimics the interface of a real mobile app. You can’t upload anything, but it’s a good way to keep track of your feed outside of the browser. - Twitter has a new embeddable widget that allows your site visitors to send you private messages. Anyone can use it, but presumably it is intended for businesses using Twitter as their customer service platform. (Twitter, oddly enough, used the phrase “slip into your personal correspondence” in its announcement – a common slang phrase on the platform that usually refers to inappropriate messaging behavior).
