How to Stream Oscars Without Cable

Tonight’s Oscar on ABC. The event kicks off with a red carpet at 17:00 ET, followed by an official awards ceremony at 20:00.

Since the show is broadcast on ABC, you will be able to watch it on TV even if you don’t have a cable TV subscription. A digital antenna is all you need to pick up ABC in most locations. If you have a cable subscription, you can also stream the celebrations through the ABC app and ABC Go by logging in with your cable credentials.

But what if you don’t have them?

If all you need to get to the show is an internet connection and a laptop or smartphone, you still have a few options:

Facebook

Funnily enough, Facebook is one of the best options for streaming awards shows. The event will begin live streaming at 6:30 pm ET on the Academy and ABC Television Facebook pages.

Websites

Both Oscar.com and ABCNews.com will also be streaming the same live stream that is broadcast on Facebook. You can access it in any browser.

Hulu

Hulu will be streaming the Oscars live on their television product Hulu Live. If you haven’t tried the live service yet, you can sign up for a free trial and use it to watch the Oscars. And if the show is running late and you need to clear the hay before the last statue is handed over, you can record the entire show on Monday on your own Hulu.

Live broadcast services

There are a TONN of cord-cutting options out there for watching live TV right now, and almost all of them offer the ability to stream ABC broadcasts. You can watch this year’s award-winning shows using Sling TV, YouTube TV, PlayStation Vue, and DirecTV Now. They all come with a monthly subscription fee, but they also offer free trials that you can use to watch the show.
