This Samsung Ultrawide Gaming Monitor Is on Sale for $600 Off.
An ultrawide curved gaming monitor with incredible specs is every gamer’s dream, but they (usually) come at a hefty price. The 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 , one of the best ultrawide gaming monitors on the market, is currently discounted to $1,499.99 (from $2,499.99 at launch)—the second-largest discount, according to price comparison tools .
The Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 Series isn’t your average ultrawide gaming monitor. It boasts impressive specs, but to fully utilize the 240Hz refresh rate, you’ll need a high-end gaming PC with dedicated ports.
This monitor was released in 2023 and received an “Excellent” rating from PCMag , primarily due to its impressive 7680 x 2160 4K resolution, incredible 57-inch screen size, excellent color range and accuracy, 240Hz refresh rate, and design. The VA panel also delivers a high screen brightness of 1000 nits. To fully utilize the powerful 240Hz refresh rate, you’ll need DisplayPort 2.1; otherwise, you’ll be limited to 120Hz. You’ll also need a powerful modern graphics card capable of rendering frames at native resolution to maximize the monitor’s potential.
Despite the high price, this monitor is a great buy for a serious gamer. You’ll need plenty of space to accommodate a 57-inch screen, as well as a powerful computer to justify using the monitor—unless you’re a professional gamer with a powerful PC, it’s probably not worth the money. Instead, consider this Asus gaming monitor, currently on sale for $329.99 (original price: $499).
