Get $200 Off the Sonos Arc Ultra During Prime Day This October.
Amazon’s October Prime Day sale has ended, but the Sonos Arc Ultra is still on sale for $899, down from the usual $1,099. PCMag named it the best soundbar of 2024 and gave it an ” Excellent ” rating. $899 is still a bit steep for a single soundbar, and those shopping on a tighter budget will find more affordable options in our Fire TV soundbar roundup.
For those with the budget to spare, the next step is space planning, as the Arc Ultra measures just over 46 inches wide and weighs around 13 pounds, making it ideal for a larger TV . Despite its width, it remains compact, standing just under three inches tall, so it can fit under most screens without obscuring the picture, or it can be wall-mounted if you prefer to keep your TV stand clear. These dimensions allow for a 9.1.4-channel configuration (a significant improvement over the original Arc), providing more space for Dolby Atmos effects to spread around and above you. Sonos has also added a new Sound Motion driver, which the company says doubles the bass of the original Arc, giving action scenes real weight without a separate subwoofer, though you can still add a Sub 4 later for more powerful bass.
At the other end of the audio spectrum, voices and dialogue are clear even at low volumes, and the speech enhancement mode further enhances them. Trueplay tuning then tailors the sound to your room, offering a fast version for Android and iOS and a more detailed version for iPhone users. The biggest drawback is connectivity, as the Arc Ultra has a single HDMI eARC port without pass-through, which can limit the number of inputs for a console or streaming device, and there’s no optical port. DTS:X support is also missing, which will disappoint some Blu-ray collectors, and voice control is limited to Alexa or Sonos’s own voice assistant, though Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and AirPlay 2 make streaming music from your phone easy.
