The Kindle Kids E-Reader Is on Sale for Nearly $60 Off During the October Prime Day Sale.
A Kindle for kids is a great birthday or holiday gift, and it’s even more affordable ahead of the Amazon Prime Day sale in October . Kindle Kids fosters learning for young book lovers, works within the Amazon ecosystem, and comes with a free case available in a variety of vibrant and unique styles.
Unlike adult Kindle versions , this kids’ model comes with a protective case, an ad-free lock screen, and a two-year replacement warranty, eliminating the stress of spills and other unexpected accidents. Right now, the Amazon Kindle Kids is 32% off and at a record low price of $122.99 (originally $179.99), making it one of the best Kindle deals of Prime Day, especially after Amazon’s price hike earlier this year.
In addition to a two-year warranty, the Amazon Kindle Kids comes with a free six-month subscription to Amazon Kids+, but it automatically renews at $5.99 per month plus tax unless canceled. PCMag describes its six-inch, 300-pixel-per-inch, anti-glare display as “bright” and “evenly lit,” reaching 94 nits of brightness while still feeling like printed paper. Unlike more common tablets, it’s intentionally limited in features, making it a great choice for young readers who tend to get distracted by books on Fire tablets or iPads.
Weighing just over nine ounces (about 230 grams), the device is lighter for small hands and more compact for backpacks than adult e-readers , yet its 16GB of storage allows for thousands of e-books. A parental control panel is also included, providing access to content and sleep mode settings. Battery life is up to six weeks, although this varies depending on screen brightness and usage. If you’re willing to spend a little more, the Kindle Paperwhite Kids is also on sale for 26% off during this sale. It’s faster, has a larger display, and offers longer battery life.
However, at a lower price, the Amazon Kindle Kids is ideal for parents who want to instill a love of reading in their children and keep them entertained without having to buy another device loaded with games or apps. At a record low price and a nearly $60 discount, it’s one of the best Amazon Prime Day Kindle deals available right now.
