How to Pre-Order the IPhone 18 Pro, IPhone 18 Pro Max, and IPhone Duo
At Apple’s latest event this week, two new phones were unveiled: the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo . Pre-orders for the iPhone 18 Pro begin on September 12, and for the iPhone Duo on October 16. Both phones feature several welcome improvements, especially the iPhone Duo, the long-awaited foldable model. The iPhones will ship with iOS 27 , which will add Siri artificial intelligence starting Monday, September 14.
What you need to know about the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max
The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at $1,299. The iPhone 18 Pro Max offers the same hardware and features as the 18 Pro, but with a larger 6.9-inch display. Visit the website on September 12th to pre-order. Apple will begin shipping the phones on September 18th.
One of the most noticeable improvements is the battery . The iPhone 17 offered up to 30 hours of playback, while the new 18 Pro offers up to 45 hours. The new A20 Pro chip adds two additional GPU cores, bringing the total to seven. Another notable difference is the camera, which features “pro controls.” This includes a new aperture control from the new 48-megapixel Fusion telephoto lens, which automatically changes the camera’s aperture to optimally match the environment (you can also change it manually). This new lens also improves video shooting with intelligent focus tracking (it locks onto the subject in the video); a “Cinematic mode” effect that lets you edit videos after shooting at up to 60 fps for a slow-motion effect; 4K resolution in time-lapse mode; improved low-light video shooting; and much more.

Perhaps the most anticipated moment of the event was the unveiling of the new iPhone Duo . This is a completely new iPhone series and Apple’s first attempt at a foldable phone. Pre-orders for the Duo begin on September 12, with shipping on September 18. The 256GB version starts at a hefty $1,999.
When open, the display measures 7.6 inches diagonally, and when closed, it’s 5.4 inches. Apple has redesigned the Duo user interface, which makes sense since this is the first iPhone with an expandable screen. It’s great for multitasking, as you can run two apps simultaneously—one on each side of the screen—and switch between landscape and portrait orientation. It features four cameras (two rear, two front-facing), Touch ID, and the A20 Pro chip, but it lacks the Action Button, Pro camera controls, and Apple’s new Reference Image feature from the iPhone 18 Pro.
