The New Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 Smartwatch Is Now on Sale for $50 Off (and Comes With a $50 Amazon Gift Card).
At its July Unpacked event, Samsung announced a slew of new products, including the long-awaited Galaxy Watch 9. Amazon is currently offering the 40mm model for $379.99, and the 44mm model for $409.99 (previously $429.99 and $459.99, respectively). Each model comes with a $50 Amazon gift card, making the deal even better.
Cellular models are also discounted, with the 40mm model down from $479.99 to $429.99, and the 44mm model down from $509.99 to $459.99. These models are better if you often leave your phone at home while jogging, walking, or running errands, as they can handle calls, texting, music streaming, and other cellular functions without your phone nearby.
The Galaxy Watch 9 smartwatch features a thinner 8.6mm case and an AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 3000 nits. It runs on an updated Qualcomm SW6100 chip, delivering improved CPU and GPU performance, with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The watch is IP68-rated for water resistance up to 50 meters and has undergone military-grade durability testing, making it more reliable than ever. It also adds new AI-powered health tracking features , including vital signs, a fitness index, and an updated running coach, along with the ability to start listening to instructions as soon as you raise your wrist, without the need to enter a passcode.
Updates include a fitness feature that claims to measure flexibility, as well as increased durability for water sports like diving. Battery life has also been improved: the 40mm model features a 390mAh battery and is rated for 30 hours of use with the always-on display turned on, while the 44mm model has a 445mAh battery. This is larger than the Galaxy Watch 8, which has 325mAh and 435mAh batteries, respectively. Overall, this isn’t a must-have upgrade for Galaxy Watch 8 owners, but the thinner design, brighter display, new processor, larger batteries, and expanded health and fitness tools are all notable improvements.
