One of the first things you’ll notice about the QM8L is its “Zero Border” bezel design, which gives it a modern, minimalist look. Once you turn it on, you’ll likely notice how bright this TV gets, a huge advantage QLED TVs have over OLED . TCL claims 6,000 nits of brightness, and considering the brightest OLED TV on the market only reaches 700 nits , no OLED TV can match this set’s brightness. Another key feature is its local dimming zones: TCL claims up to 4,000 zones, which translates to superior backlight control, limited light leakage (thanks in part to TCL’s “Halo Control” technology), and incredible contrast that some may not notice compared to OLED.

What do you think at the moment?

While many won’t manually calibrate their TVs, the picture modes you can toggle in the settings will be the most convenient for most. This TV’s “Filmmaker” mode ensures accurate color and picture quality, and if you’re a gamer, you can use the native 144Hz refresh rate. If you don’t already have a surround sound system at home and want to keep the design minimalist, the QM8L comes with Bang & Olufsen speakers supporting Dolby Atmos, which deliver above-average sound quality compared to most TVs. You can learn more about these features in the CNET review, which has an 8.8/10 rating . If 65 inches isn’t quite right for your home theater system, check out the other QM8L sizes, which are also currently on sale.
