There are certain times of the year when we expect big tech events: Samsung holds Galaxy Unpacked in January or February ; Google holds I/O in May ; Apple launches WWDC in June ; and in July, um, Galaxy Unpacked again… (I guess that means we’re officially halfway through 2026.)
Although both events share the same name, Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked presentations are truly distinct. For example, the February Galaxy Unpacked event showcased the new Galaxy S26 series , including the new Privacy Display on the Galaxy S26 Ultra . The company also announced the Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro earbuds. The July Unpacked event will likely be slightly different. Here’s what to expect and how to watch:
What to expect from Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked presentation in July 2026?
While February’s Unpacked presentation focused on Samsung’s flagship smartphones, July’s will likely focus on the company’s foldable devices. Since last year’s foldable devices were the Galaxy Z 7 series (including the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7), this year’s company will likely release the Galaxy Z 8 series, including the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.
However, there may be more to this. As Mashable reports , the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra may actually be the Galaxy Z Fold 8—that is, the expected successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The device Samsung is calling the Galaxy Z Fold 8 may actually be an entirely new device, featuring a larger display, albeit in a smaller body. Samsung may also use this opportunity to release the next generation of its smartwatches—the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, which are rumored to be largely unchanged from the previous generation.
Mashable also reports that Samsung will likely raise prices on these devices. This isn’t surprising: as AI companies actively equip their devices with RAM and storage, these items are becoming more expensive. Therefore, companies around the world are raising prices to protect their profits. Even Samsung itself stated in April that it wouldn’t be able to meet demand for memory production this year, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see prices on its latest Galaxy devices increase. This could mean a $100 price increase across all models: the Fold 8 Ultra could start at $2,099, while the Flip 8 could start at $1,199.
How to watch the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked presentation in July
Samsung isn’t creating barriers to viewing its latest Galaxy Unpacked presentation. While the company is holding a limited-attendance event for media representatives, anyone with internet access can watch the stream from home.
