For the First Time, Shokz Bone Conduction Headphones Cost Less Than $100.

Bone conduction headphones are ideal for activities where hearing your surroundings is crucial. This is because they use technology that transmits sound vibrations to the inner ear, keeping the ear canals open. Shokz is one of the best, if not the best, brand making bone conduction headphones right now. Shokz’s top-of-the-line product line includes the OpenRun Pro 2 , which impressed me during testing, but they’re quite pricey at $180. However, the older, but still functional , OpenRun Pro model is currently on sale for $99.95 (it was $159.99 at launch), the lowest price they’ve ever reached, according to price tracking tools .

If you’ve never used bone conduction headphones, it’s worth giving them a try, and the Shokz OpenPro is a great introduction to this technology. Previously, bone conduction headphones typically suffered from weak bass compared to in-ear models. The OpenRun Pro are designed to partially compensate for this drawback—you won’t get the same powerful bass as regular headphones, but it will be the best you can get from any other bone conduction headphone.

What do you think at the moment?

As the name suggests, these headphones are designed for outdoor running. They have an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance, are lightweight and comfortable, and can be worn with bike helmets and sunglasses. They can also be used as everyday headphones; they allow you to take calls, but keep in mind that they don’t block out outside noise. Personally, I wear my Shokz all the time at home and sometimes even forget I’m wearing them (they’re that comfortable).
