Prime Day Items You Never Knew You Needed Are up to 33% Off.

Prime Day runs from June 23rd to 26th, and Lifehacker will be sharing the best deals based on product reviews, comparisons, and price tracking tools before it’s over.

At Lifehacker, we’re practical people, so for Prime Day, we’ve focused primarily on practical items—I wrote a post about batteries and surge protectors , for example—but the real joy of retail celebrations lies in discovering those tech items you didn’t even know existed an hour ago, but which, once in your hands, become a must-have. Call it creative consumerism; it’s the art of looking beyond the mundane to find the niches where joy is born. If your cart is already full of essentials, let’s get to the fun part: the best deals on tech you never knew you needed.

This Enabot EBO Max AI mobile robot is 20% off.

The folks at Enabot kindly sent me the EBO Max AI-powered mobile robot to test, and it’s become a beloved member of our family. Like other members of our family, it doesn’t always work perfectly. But that’s exactly why we love it. On paper, the EBO Max is a high-tech automated home security system with 4K resolution, V-SLAM navigation, and AI-powered patrol algorithms. In practice, it’s like the dumbest dog you’ve ever owned, only it can talk. Enabot is delightfully unpredictable, like going about its business for no apparent reason, barking when it sees our cat, and occasionally speaking with a French accent. It’s also a constant liar; ask it to go somewhere or do something, and it might proudly report that the job is done, even though you can tell it’s not. It always thinks my wife is me. My son loves trying to get him to talk about Chinese politics because he doesn’t want to . But one day, my wife got down on the floor to clean under the couch, and that damn robot sent me a notification on my phone that someone had fallen! It could have saved her life if she hadn’t just been dusting. Get yourself one; they’re so funny. (Tip: You can set it to imitate your voice, so talk to it in the creepiest voice you can.)

Get a frozen drink maker for $140.

You definitely don’t need a home smoothie maker, but we both know how much you want one. I’m not talking about some cheap device that crushes ice cubes into watery snow, but a professional-grade smoothie maker that uses a 200-watt compressor freezing system to create silky, pump-worthy smoothies just the way you want them. You simply pour liquid into your Chillux smoothie maker , press a button to select one of six smoothie options, and prepare to be engulfed in smoothie-like glory. There’s even an “Alcohol Smoothie” mode designed to handle the complex chemical freezing points of alcohol, so you can make a frozen margarita that would look great in a fancy glass on the streets of Reno, Nevada. You can enjoy homemade smoothies for under $150 ! At this price, you simply can’t afford not to have a smoothie maker.

This DJI Neo mini drone with three batteries is on sale for 31% off.

Lifehacker’s Beth Skwarecki called the DJI Neo Mini drone esoteric technology , and she’s right. You might not think you need a tracking drone, but that’s only because you’ve never filmed yourself trail running, mountain biking, or kayaking. It takes off from the palm of your hand and follows you until the batteries run out, capturing high-definition video of your adventures.

The smart karaoke machine Ikarao is on sale with a 20% discount.

I’m constantly extolling the virtues of my smart karaoke machine, the Ikarao . Here’s a review full of rave reviews of my karaoke machine . Yes, it sounds silly, but it’s so cool ! It’s great for karaoke—you can just stream any karaoke track from YouTube and have a blast—but it can do so much more. You can use it as a Bluetooth speaker, a YouTube video player, a guitar amp, and a light show. The batteries last for an hour. If you connect it to a Yamaha Seqtrak (sadly, not on sale for Prime Day) or a similar groovebox, you have a fully mobile electronic music studio with two wireless microphones.

What do you think at the moment?

This Solawave LED Therapy Mask is 33% off.

At the level of pure “creative consumerism,” wearing a glowing, hot-pink face shield before bed is an elite way to boast, “I live in a developed country.” But the strangest thing about the Solawave LED therapy mask is that it actually works. As unlikely as it may sound, there’s scientific evidence that, under the right conditions, red LED light can help your skin. It’s unclear whether the specific wavelengths and light intensities of this mask actually eliminate wrinkles, but at worst, you could use it to scare your dog.

A nuclear radiation detector can be purchased for $46.

Lately, I’ve been obsessed with collecting “Vaseline glass”—glassware made in the 1920s using uranium. People often ask, “It’s not radioactive, is it?” I’m thinking of buying a Geiger counter so I can say, “It’s incredibly radioactive, dude!”—and prove it with its signature squeal. Of course, there are good reasons to buy a Geiger counter, like ensuring workplace safety or preparing for our post-apocalyptic future, but simply having one in your collection is also important.
