New to Prime Day? We’ve prepared a comprehensive guide for you, covering everything you need to know . Discount information is current at the time of publication, but prices and availability are subject to change.
Prime Day is here again, and I’m feeling a little overwhelmed. Millions of items are on sale as part of Amazon’s massive shopping fest—enough to fill an extended four-day event, and too many for one person to sift through. Luckily, I have my team here at Lifehacker (and our sister sites Mashable , CNET , and ZDNet ) to help me sort through it all and find the deals you can’t miss.
From e-readers and headphones to fitness gadgets, here are my picks for the best Prime Day deals worth checking out. This list will only grow as I add new items until the sale ends on June 26th.
The AirPods Max turned out to be cheaper than I ever expected.
For me, the AirPods Max are in that rare category of Apple products that I really want, but are too expensive to afford. Yes, they look and apparently sound amazing, but even as a die-hard Apple fan, I can’t justify spending $550 on earbuds. But now they’re a whopping $150 cheaper —a staggering 27% price cut on the improved version of Apple’s best earbuds makes them much more accessible.
But I actually bought AirPods Pro 3.
Who am I kidding? $400 is still way too much for me on headphones. But $180 for AirPods Pro 3 , the latest version of Apple’s ubiquitous earbuds, with useful improvements like heart rate tracking and improved noise cancellation? Yes, please—I needed to replace my aging Beats Fit Pro anyway.
The latest iPad Mini is on sale for $100 off.
Apple devices are rarely discounted, so it’s worth taking advantage of the opportunity to snag them at a reduced price, especially on the newest models. During Prime Day , the latest iPad Mini with the A17 Pro processor is on sale for $399 for the Wi-Fi-only version, a 20% discount from the regular price of $500. Considering my child still uses the 2020 iPad, it’s safe to say this little one will last a long time.
The Echo Dot Max is worth the upgrade.
If you have a Prime subscription, chances are good that your home, like mine, is littered with too many Echo Dots—we have five scattered across two floors, collected over the years. Some are quite old, meaning their sound has deteriorated and they’re sluggish when interacting with the AI-powered Alexa+ chatbot, so I recently upgraded our main living room speaker to the new Echo Dox Max. It delivers richer, more powerful sound and works great with Alexa+. It also looks a bit like the Death Star. Not bad, especially for $65—35% off.
This Blink doorbell and security camera kit costs under $30.
I’ve been using the Blink doorbell for years—it has a great camera and connects to my Alexa-enabled speakers, so I always hear it ring. Now you can get the second-generation Blink video doorbell, complete with the Outdoor 4 wireless camera and a sync module that lets you save video locally without a monthly subscription, for just $28—that’s an incredible $112 off the regular price, or 80% off.
The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition e-reader is on sale at its lowest price ever.
It probably goes without saying that the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is the best e-reader for most people. It’s an improved version of the base Kindle model, featuring a larger screen, adjustable color temperature backlighting, water resistance, and longer battery life. And with the Signature Edition, you won’t see ads on your lock screen. The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is currently priced at $145 , nearly 30% off the regular price and its lowest price ever, according to price tracking tools. It’s available in three colors.
There’s a 20% discount on a small e-reader I’d choose over a Kindle.
Yes, you could buy a Kindle during Prime Day, but where’s the fun? Instead, I suggest getting an e-reader so small it has a magnet so you can attach it to the back of your phone. Both the 4.3-inch Xteink X4 and the more compact 3.7-inch Xteink X3 are 20% off, priced at $55 and $63, respectively, and either would be a great choice for carrying around. These minimalist devices require DRM-free e-readers to be installed, but once you do, they’re the most portable e-readers…pretty much ever. Take them everywhere and say goodbye to endless scrolling. (Read more in my X4 and X3 reviews .)
A huge Hisense mini LED TV for a (relatively) tiny price.
TVs are getting bigger, but not necessarily cheaper, so it’s crucial to wait for a good sale to upgrade your set. Prime Day is one such occasion: right now, you can snag this massive 85-inch Hisense U6 Pro Mini LED 4K TV for $1,099 , a whopping $900 off the regular price, while the 100-inch model is on sale for an even bigger $1,400 discount , bringing the total to $2,100. According to our friends at CNET , these TVs offer a lot for the “budget” price… provided you have enough space for them.
Oura rings are on sale at almost 50% off.
Lifehacker health and fitness editor Beth Skwarecki called this deal “insane”: the ceramic and gold versions of the Oura fitness tracker are nearly 50% off, a huge discount for these premium wearables. “I was expecting some kind of discount because this is the first Prime Day sale since the Oura Ring 5 , but these prices are way lower than I expected,” she said , so you know it’s a great time to buy.
This EGO Electric Lawn Mower with 21″ Cutting Width is on sale at an incredible low price with 40% off.
I’ve been trimming my lawn with a string trimmer for years because I didn’t want to buy an electric mower, given my past experiences with short battery life and underpowered motors. But according to our home and garden expert, Becky Lewis , the EGO Self-Propelled Cordless Lawn Mower with a 21-inch cutting width and 56-volt power can run for over an hour on a single charge. It’s currently on sale for $399, 40% off the regular price, and comes with two 56-volt, 4-amp-hour batteries and a charger. Time to put that string trimmer to rest.
Our marathon runner’s favorite training headphones are on sale for up to $60.
Meredith Dietz, a fitness tech writer at Lifehacker, is an avid marathoner and swears by the Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 headphones for all her workouts. These bone conduction headphones typically retail for around $180, but are currently available for just $119.95 (depending on color and size).
The best Apple Watch for most people is on sale for up to $120 off.
The Apple Watch Series 11 , which typically retails for $429, is now on sale for $309. That’s the price for the 46mm version—you can also get it for $279 (down from $399) in the 42mm size . Compared to the previous generation, the Series 11 has improved battery life , lasting up to 43 hours with the always-on display turned on (compared to 36 hours on the Series 10). It will also feature the new Siri AI app, coming this fall with watchOS 27.
Our picks for the best budget fitness watches are now $100 cheaper.
Lifehacker’s Health & Fitness Editor, Beth Skwarecki, has extensive experience testing fitness trackers, and she’s previously called the Suunto Run the best value fitness watch under $250 —but during the Prime Day sale , it’s now down to less than $150 . For that price, you get a 1.32-inch display, 12-day battery life, and dual-band GPS. Does that make it an even better value fitness watch?
