The 32-inch Samsung M9 Smart Monitor (M90SF) is on sale on Amazon for $1,199.99, down from its original price of $1,599.99 and the lowest price yet, according to price-tracking sites . It’s still pricey for a 32-inch display, but this isn’t your typical monitor. Samsung positions it as a cross between a premium display, a smart TV, and a gaming console for less demanding users. PCMag rated it ” Excellent ,” noting how well it balances work and play.
The main draw of this monitor is its 32-inch 4K QD-OLED panel. Colors appear rich without being oversaturated, and the contrast is high enough to prevent dark scenes from appearing washed out. With a pixel density of approximately 138 ppi, text appears crisp in spreadsheets or design work. The monitor is also flexible. It can be raised, tilted, and rotated into portrait mode, although you’ll need to extend it fully to rotate it. On paper, it’s not the brightest screen at 250 nits, but in a typical indoor setting, images still look vibrant, and the matte finish helps control glare. For gaming, the 165Hz refresh rate and near-instantaneous response time ensure smooth motion, while FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync support means fewer visual stutters. You can also stream games directly through Samsung Gaming Hub or Xbox Game Pass using just a controller, which is convenient if you don’t have a console.
This monitor runs Samsung’s Tizen operating system, so it can be used as a standalone TV. You get access to Samsung TV Plus, Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, and more, all controlled by a slim remote that charges from a built-in solar panel. There’s also SmartThings support for controlling compatible smart home devices and access to Microsoft 365 apps. A 4K webcam makes video calls convenient, and the built-in speakers are adequate for casual viewing, though there’s no headphone jack (wireless headphones are recommended). One downside is the limited port selection for a monitor in this price range. There’s one HDMI, one DisplayPort, one USB-C with 90W charging, and two USB-A ports, which may be limiting if you use multiple devices.
For those who need a single screen that can handle work during the day and replace a TV or games console in the evening, the OLED M9 is a great option, especially now that it’s on sale at its best price ever.
