The latest AirPods Pro are a significant step up. The third generation of Apple’s iconic earbuds features a number of usability enhancements and software improvements, justifying their typically higher price compared to the AirPods Pro 2 —and right now, the AirPods Pro 3 are even cheaper than the previous generation. On Amazon, they’re $179 during Prime Day , down from their original price of $249 and matching their all-time low, according to price tracking tools .

The AirPods Pro 3 improve on the already excellent earbuds with new features like a heart rate sensor, improved automatic noise cancellation (ANC), longer battery life for the earbuds themselves (though the charging case’s life is slightly worse), and an improved Find My Phone feature. You’ll also get personalized spatial audio (allowing you to hear sounds that seem to come from different directions when you move your head) and the ability to use head gestures to tell Siri “yes” or “no” (this also works for answering or rejecting calls). Apple added real-time translation to both the second- and third-generation AirPods Pro with the release of iOS 26 earlier this year, and with iOS 27, coming later this fall, customizable EQ controls will arrive . AirPods Pro have their own adaptive EQ, but you can’t customize it yet.

Thanks to the rubber eartips, these headphones fit snugly into the ear canal (unlike regular earbuds like the AirPods 4); therefore, the active noise cancellation (ANC) system works much better, and the ANC technology itself has improved, as has the overall sound quality thanks to the new H3 chip. In its ” benchmark ” review, PCMag called them the best headphones for the money—and now you can spend 28% less.
