New to Prime Day? We’ve prepared a detailed guide for you covering everything you need to know . Discount information is current at the time of publication, but prices and availability are subject to change.
Ahead of Prime Day , Amazon’s signature tech is, as expected, selling at some of its deepest discounts . Take, for example, the Fire TV Soundbar Plus , which is now on sale for $144.99 (originally $249.99)—its lowest price ever, according to price tracking sites . It’s one of the best deals I’ve seen so far.
Essentially, you’re paying for cleaner, richer sound without turning your living room into a full-fledged home theater. TV speakers often struggle with dialogue, especially in movies where background music and effects compete with voices. The Fire TV Soundbar Plus does a better job of keeping conversations front and center, and, according to a PCMag review , delivers more spacious and high-quality sound than the TV’s built-in speakers. Besides TV audio, the soundbar can be used as a Bluetooth speaker, and HDMI eARC and optical ports simplify setup. It’s worth noting: despite the Fire TV branding, it’s not a streaming device and doesn’t work with the Fire TV software.
Furthermore, while the Soundbar Plus supports Dolby Atmos, it lacks dedicated height channels, so you won’t get the height effects that make Atmos so impressive. Bass is another limitation: while it’s present, action movies and concerts won’t have the same impact as a system with a separate subwoofer. Amazon sells versions that include a subwoofer and rear speakers , but these kits are significantly more expensive.
There’s no app or on-screen interface, so setting changes are confirmed via voice prompts and LED indicators, which may be less intuitive than competing systems with accompanying apps. However, for smaller living rooms, bedrooms, or casual movie watching, it’s still a significant improvement at the current price during the Prime Day sale.
