The Bose Smart Ultra soundbar has dropped from its usual $999 price to $699, which, according to price tracking sites , is the lowest price for this model to date. It’s also one of the best home theater deals we’ve spotted during the Prime Day sales (we’re tracking more deals and offering buying advice in our Prime Day 2026 roundup). PCMag rated the Smart Ultra “excellent,” noting that it delivers surprisingly spacious Dolby Atmos sound without the need for additional speakers.
The Smart Ultra soundbar features a 5.1.2-channel design with nine drivers, including two upward-firing drivers that bounce sound off the ceiling, creating a height effect. This means movies, TV shows, and games feel larger and more spacious than most single-soundbar soundbars. Bose also includes the AdaptiQ room calibration system, which measures your room’s acoustics and adjusts the sound accordingly. The process takes a few minutes but helps the soundbar perform better in different rooms, rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all setup profile. The soundbar also functions as a smart speaker, with Amazon Alexa built-in and support for Apple AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, Bluetooth, and multi-room audio via the Bose app.
The main compromise is bass: for a single-channel soundbar, the low frequencies are quite decent, but it can’t fully replace the capabilities of a dedicated subwoofer when watching action movies, concerts, or listening to bass-heavy music. The good news is that Bose allows you to expand the system later with compatible wireless subwoofers and rear speakers if you decide you need more power. For those looking for a premium single-channel soundbar that delivers compelling Dolby Atmos effects, clear dialogue, built-in smart features, and a much wider soundstage than TV speakers can provide, the Smart Ultra remains one of the best options on the market, especially at this price.
