It offers the same audio hardware and Sonos ecosystem as the Sonos One, but without Alexa or other built-in voice assistants. By comparison, Amazon currently sells the same speaker for around $149-$220 for a refurbished unit (and $299 for a new one), and according to price tracking sites , this offer is also below the previous low of around $129. Woot describes the speaker as Grade A refurbished, meaning it has been tested, restored to like-new working condition, and should have only minor cosmetic imperfections.
The only significant difference between the One SL and the Sonos One is the lack of a microphone. Everything else remains the same, including support for Apple AirPlay 2, the Sonos multi-room audio platform, and the Trueplay room tuning feature. Sound quality remains one of its main strengths—it houses two Class-D amplifiers, a tweeter, and a midrange driver, which together deliver a balanced sound with clear vocals, controlled bass, and enough volume to comfortably fill a bedroom, office, kitchen, or living room without feeling overwhelming.
If you already own Sonos gear, the One SL becomes even more useful—two One SL speakers can be paired for stereo sound, or used as rear surround speakers with compatible Sonos soundbars like the Beam. The main limitation is connectivity. Unlike newer Sonos products, the One SL doesn’t support Bluetooth audio streaming, relying solely on Wi-Fi or a wired Ethernet connection. If your home network goes down, the speaker will also stop working. It also doesn’t support high-resolution audio formats.
