Siri AI, 3D Safari and Other New Features Are Coming to VisionOS 27.

Vision Pro may not be Apple’s top priority right now , but that’s not clear from the visionOS announcements at WWDC on Monday . Along with the previously noted improvements to 3D photos and VR environments , visionOS will receive a host of other updates, including a more intelligent Siri, 3D environments for Safari, and faster Wi-Fi connectivity.

Vision Pro users will receive the best version of Siri AI.

Perhaps the most important news at WWDC was the long-awaited AI-powered Siri . Siri AI will be available on all Apple devices, but Vision Pro users will get several cool features that no other device will have: the ability to have Siri AI look where you look and answer your questions based on what it sees, as well as a Siri widget for your augmented home, allowing you to pin the virtual Siri where you need it most. You’ll still be able to say “Hey Siri” anytime, but Vision Pro users will be able to access Siri using their eyes . Welcome to the future.

The new, improved Siri is slated to arrive on Apple devices this fall, allowing you to switch between your phone or tablet and a headset without losing audio quality. Regardless of which device you’re using it on, Siri’s AI will be able to access Apple apps and provide context-based responses. So, you can say, “Hey Siri, show me photos from that time I was in Yonkers,” and they’ll appear. It’ll all feel like a casual conversation, naturally.

The improvements described below weren’t mentioned during the presentation, but they’re already on the way . They’re not life-changing, but many small improvements add up to a significant impact. Personally, I’m looking forward to trying out the new Vision Pro feature—notification previews just by looking at them. Another very useful update: Safari will support 3D environments. Developers will be able to create 360-degree backgrounds that surround your physical space, for a more immersive web browsing experience. Finally, I’ll be able to move beyond browsing on a flat surface like a caveman.

Below are more improvements coming to visionOS.

  • Improved Control Center : I haven’t had any issues with Control Center before, but splitting it into three new sections—Notifications & Playback, Essential Controls, and Around Me—will definitely make it easier to find what you need.

  • Faster Wi-Fi : According to Apple, your Vision Pro will connect to Wi-Fi up to three times faster.

  • Dwell Control Improvements : Apple is updating Dwell Control to make it easier to select items at a glance. The new version of Dwell Control features a checkmark you can glance at instead of waiting for a timer to run out. Apple promises this will be a more intuitive, faster, and more natural process.

  • Reality Composer 3 : For developers watching the conference, Apple unveiled Reality Composer 3, promising a tool that will allow you to “create game assets with advanced simulation, character animation, and dynamic lighting… to build game logic without writing any code.”

  • Miniaturized widgets and the Virtual Display widget : Any customization options for augmented reality are welcome, so please add these tiny widgets. There’s also a new Mac Virtual Display widget that can instantly connect to your Mac, even when it’s closed.

  • Faster message syncing : Missed message notifications and unread message counters sync faster between your Apple devices.
