Safari’s New AI-Powered Tab Organization Looks Really Useful.

Apple Intelligence technology will be featured across all Apple apps—and we’re not just talking about Siri’s AI. During its WWDC 2026 keynote, Apple announced a host of important new Safari features powered by Apple Intelligence, which will free you from the tedious task of tab management. Meanwhile, the Passwords app will receive a new feature that will make updating compromised passwords significantly easier.
Safari will automatically organize your tabs.
Apple is simplifying tab management in Safari. If you’re someone who opens dozens of tabs at once, you’ll understand. In macOS 27, Apple will use Apple Intelligence to automatically sort and categorize all your tabs by topic. Apple Intelligence uses AI to analyze page content and group it by topic. As you browse the web, newly opened tabs will automatically be sorted into the correct group. And Apple promises that your browsing data will remain private and won’t be used to train AI systems.
Track changes on the website and receive notifications.
A very handy new feature called “Notify Me” has also been added. It can monitor a webpage in the background on your behalf and send you a notification whenever it changes or updates. All you need to do is specify the context, the specific update you’re looking for (in plain text), and how often to check for updates. When the webpage is updated with changes that match your search, you’ll receive an instant notification—for example, when registration for an event opens or when an item comes back in stock.
Create your own Safari extensions with Vibe Code
Most interestingly, Apple hinted at the possibility of creating custom Safari extensions using Vibe Code, using text hints to add features to a webpage or customize it. It will be interesting to see how well this works in practice, but it sounds pretty cool.
Let Apple Intelligence update your compromised passwords.
Safari will also integrate with the Passwords app to help you automatically update passwords for websites that may have been hacked. Once the Passwords app detects a problem, you can delegate the tedious part of resetting passwords to Apple Intelligence. It will automatically open websites and change the password on your behalf, all in the background.
