Claude Is Currently Unconscious.

If you tried using Claude this morning, you likely encountered issues. Whether you were communicating with the chatbot or using Claude Code for a project, you may have experienced interruptions or no response at all. And it’s not just you; Claude is currently unavailable.

This appears to be more than just an isolated issue affecting a small group of users. According to the Claude status page on Anthropic’s website , “increased errors across multiple Claude models” are being observed. Anthropic posted a status update at 15:19 UTC (11:19 AM ET), confirming that the company is currently investigating the situation. Looking at the list of Claude services, I see that Claude Console and Claude for Government are “functional,” but claude.ai , Claude API, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork are experiencing partial outages.

Users are feeling the effects. At the time of writing , Downdetector shows over 1,000 user reports of Claude issues, and I expect that number to only grow as the outage continues. (Note: Downdector is owned by Lifehacker’s parent company, Ziff Davis.) Users in the Downdetector comments confirm their experiences with outages, though many are dismissive. One user wrote, “Here we go again,” implying they’ve gotten somewhat used to Claude outages. Indeed, I covered the Claude outage back in March .

What do you think at the moment?

Anthropic will likely restore Claude’s functionality soon, though depending on the cause of the issue, some of us may be without the AI and its tools for part of the workday.
