The Hisense CanvasTV Is a Great Alternative to the Samsung the Frame, and It’s Currently $500 Off.

After my wife and I bought a house and it was time to get a TV, we knew we wanted something like the Samsung The Frame—we didn’t want an unsightly black box to be the centerpiece of our living room when not in use. We ended up choosing the first Hisense CanvasTV, and we absolutely love it . This year, Hisense released the 2026 S7 CanvasTV , and the 50-inch model is currently priced at $798.99 (originally $1,299.99) after a $500 discount. This is the lowest price ever, according to price tracking tools .

Art mode, anti-glare panel, Dolby Vision HDR, matte display, frame and ultra-thin wall mount included, TV for everyday life.

The main advantage of the CanvasTV over the Samsung The Frame is the price: with The Frame, you’ll have to buy the TV frame and most of the decorative elements separately, while the Hisense includes everything in the price. Like The Frame, the CanvasTV also comes with a TV mount, allowing you to hang it like a true work of art. I also love that the CanvasTV runs Google OS, my favorite smart TV operating system, as it allows for seamless streaming from your phone (Android or iPhone).

This new version improves peak brightness to 500 nits (up from 450 nits), and adds an ambient light sensor that adjusts brightness and color based on room lighting (this feature can be disabled). The side viewing angle is supposedly improved, but the review will reveal just how much.

What do you think at the moment?

If these changes don’t seem too impressive, the 2024 model is still a great option in 2026, and it’s offered at a significant discount. The 55-inch version is just $599.99 (original price: $999.99) at Best Buy, a significant price reduction for a slightly larger (but older) TV.
